So much has happened this year that I thought it would be time to share a quick update in photos. Plus….I get so many emails from you all that it’s time you knew more about me and my life! 😉
My last personal life update was on my birthday in August. Me and the hubby are settling well into our married life. We just hit our 6 months of marriage (wow, time flies!). I’ve lived on my own for so long (at least a decade!) that I’ve never experienced what it was like to have so much support in my life.
It’s nice, different, and at the same time, we’re learning to adjust to what newlyweds go through – which for us, is learning how to divide house chores evenly!

Here’s us in Capri, Italy….I’ve never felt so close to the clouds before. Look how high up we were!
We went to Jamaica for our honeymoon this year, and a few months after that, we decided to go to Italy on a spontaneous last-minute trip! (yes, we’re last-minute birds; we booked our flight 2 weeks before we left, and it turned out to be such a great time). Here’s my hubby backpacking like a pro…almost!
I saw some amazing, incredible views that I will never forget (and that are now forever ingrained in my memory). I wish I could just sit here forever and admire this view. My dream would be to move here (unfortunately, my husband won’t let me…yet). 😉

Dining for lunch in Amalfi Coast, Italy. My dream place to live.
However, shortly after we came back to Toronto….we got hit with this: a snow storm. 🙁 What usually only takes 40 minutes to get to work, took 2 hours on this day. It was insane.
The weather has been hovering around -5 to 3 degrees these days, and it’s still supposed to get colder! Brrrrrr. I’ll gladly accept any warmth if you send some over 😉
On another note – I’ve also started juicing.
When I got back from Italy, I decided that I wanted to start juicing instead of blending smoothies (because I had done a lot of research – and juicing actually retains more nutrients than blending smoothies, although it loses the fiber content).
We started juicing every day. I decided to splurge a bit and I bought this Omega Nutrition NC 800 Juicer. To me, health is wealth. I had done a lot of research on top juicing models (for a more “suitable” price that wasn’t overly pricey that it would break my bank).
I love this juicer, and it’s so easy to clean!
Since coming back from Italy, I’ve also taken up healthy routines. I’ve been starting my mornings with deep breathing, gratitude, prayer, and affirmations for 5-10 minutes. Listening to Tony Robbins and Louise Hay helps a lot and really strengthens me emotionally.

My morning workout area starts here.
Then, I’ll head to another room and work out for 20 minutes in the morning. It really keeps me awake and makes me feel pumped up and so energized to start the day. I usually continue to speak affirmations to myself during my work out (if I have the energy to do so!).
In terms of cooking, my hubby is the one who mainly cooks in our home – and lately he’s been experimenting with new recipes, such as these chickpea burgers below. They turned out yummy!
Below are also some beet pancakes that he made. I had never heard of them before until he made them – but they’re amaaazing (and they taste better than they look). I don’t have the recipe for it – but if you google it, you’ll find a ton! 🙂
And that’s my 2014 update! 🙂
I hope it’s helped you to know more about me. It brings me joy to read all your emails and to connect with you all! I feel so honoured to be able to share my life and to share eczema tips with you.
I pray that 2015 brings you so much joy, so many blessings, and that it will be better than the previous year.
You’re special – and I hope that your New Year makes you feel that way 🙂
Love,
Abby xo
