“This eczema sucks”
“My skin looks horrible”
“No one’s ever going to love me like this.”
“This is never going to heal.”
Do any of these words sound familiar – perhaps something you’ve said before?
Check out my latest video on affirmations to heal your skin.
Every single day – we have 30,000-60,000 thoughts that replay in our minds throughout the day.
If your eczema is going through a flare up, and all you can think about all day is how bad you look, how much you’re suffering, how life sucks, or how no one loves you – well, bad news – your confidence, mood, and outlook become negative too. And, it only serves to make you more depressed and pitiful over time; negative thinking creates negative/low self esteem, which in turn will show up in your body language and your interaction towards others.
The problem with these negative thoughts is that it can be self-fulfilling. If you’re constantly talking yourself into believing that you’re not good enough or never going to heal, these thoughts can drag down our personal lives, our relationships, and our careers. This is why consciously doing the opposite – using positive affirmations – can be helpful.
Affirmations are positive words that help you overcome self-sabotaging, negative thoughts. They help you visualize and believe what you’re affirming to yourself, to make positive changes in your life.
I’m excited to share this blog post with you all because I feel that it’s really made a difference in my life over the last few years. I haven’t always been practicing using affirmations in my life – but it’s something that I have been trying to get better and better at.
When did I start practicing Affirmations?
I started practicing affirmations when I first became a Christian. I was learning a lot about faith and how God wanted us to have faith and believe in healing. Honestly, learning this was a life saviour for me. When I became a Christian, it was the first time that I found hope. Life was so full of pain during my eczema flare ups, that I had lost all hope in everything else.
I started to speak out words of faith that I would be healed (as strange as it seemed at first!), since “faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” (Hebrews 11:1). Even the Bible teaches us to “live by faith and not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). This instilled in me a lot of faith, hope and joy, in the midst of suffering and pain during eczema flare ups.
I still deal with dryness, and I still do affirm by faith that my skin will be normal and soft.
My most recent discovery – Louise Hay Affirmations (they’re incredible!)

Here’s one of Louise Hay’s books 🙂
My most recent discovery has been Affirmation videos by Louise Hay. She’s an incredible woman, and the founder of Hay House. She’s been through cancer, abuse, childhood rape – and she’s used affirmations to help her life.
I strongly believe that eczema has a strong emotional component tied to it. What I mean by this, is that eczema is often tied with fear and self-rejection. When we begin to learn to love ourselves and our bodies, our positive thought patterns can help reverse illness and create long-lasting health.
I’ve noticed in the past that when I scratched a lot, and I would say things like “I’m beautiful,” or “I have beautiful skin,” my scratching would calm down.
Your mind and thoughts really do affect everything – from your actions, your demeanour, your belief system, to your destiny. This is why a stressed out person will also start to scratch more.
Louise Hay Videos to Help Your Life
I’ve been listening to these videos morning and night! The first thing I do when I wake up is listen to them 🙂 I’m not ashamed to say that I feel so relaxed, along with a new-found confidence and hope. I wake up each morning with expectation and excitement, knowing that the dryness on my skin will reach full healing.
That’s when I slap myself back to reality 😉 And I begin to speak more affirmations over myself, or I’ll listen to Louise Hay’s videos. I feel so much calmer, and I’ve definitely noticed a huge difference in the last few weeks!
Since listening to them, I’ve found 2 things that have greatly helped my skin’s dryness, and I definitely feel that it’s because I’ve been believing that I’ll find healing. I’m very thankful – and I love this new hope, expectation, and confidence that it’s helped me to build.
Here are a few of her videos that I encourage you to listen to!
Whether you decide to lie down on your bed and relax – it’s worth listening to. Let these affirmations change your life. (Or, check out the bible app that in my Products I Love page for verses on faith to encourage healing in your life.)
Best of luck! I’m rooting for your healing 🙂 You’re not alone in this.
You should sit somewhere to listen to this one. It really relaxes your body and helps you find emotional healing as well, so you might need to concentrate.
Everything that you think of today, will impact what your future looks like – so make sure to think good thoughts.
How have affirmations helped you in your life? What are you doing on a daily basis to improve the affirmations in your life?
