How to Choose an Eczema Program
Not every eczema program, coach, or practitioner is built the same way. If you’re weighing your options, including ours, here are eight questions worth asking anyone before you commit time or money.
Is it for adults, children, or both?
Many programs and practitioners are built around one age group. Some focus mainly on childhood eczema and parent coaching. Others work mainly with adults. Either way, the practitioners’ daily experience tends to concentrate in one age group. And that shows up in the plan you actually get.
Eczema Conquerors specializes in eczema for both adults and children, with practitioners who work with each age group regularly.
Ask: whether the practitioners actually specialize in your age group, or just handle it occasionally alongside everyone else. A practitioner who works with your age group every day catches things a generalist is more likely to miss, especially one who only sees a handful of cases like yours.
Do you get one-on-one practitioner time, or is it group-only?
One-on-one, tailored sessions are significantly more effective than group coaching for eczema. The more one-on-one time you get, the more tailored your plan becomes, and a more personalized plan can also lead to faster results. Group sessions are harder to customize by design. Here’s why that matters: eczema can trace back to 15 or more overlapping root causes, and everyone’s case is genuinely bio-individual, your labs, your other symptoms or conditions, and your medications all play a role.
A group session can address things in general, but it’s hard to tie any of it specifically to you: reviewing your labs, catching your specific pattern, or flagging a contraindication with something you’re already taking. Without that tailoring, your progress can sometimes slow down instead of speed up, and the more complex or long-standing your case, the more that gap costs you.
Ask: how much real one-on-one time you get with a practitioner, not just group access. That’s where the real shifts happen: your labs get reviewed, your case gets discussed in depth, and your protocol gets built around you, instead of generalized in a group Q&A.
Is functional testing part of the process?
Recurring eczema often has drivers you can’t see from the outside. Gut. Histamine load. Nutrient status. Ask whether testing, like functional lab testing or stool testing, is included, sold as an add-on, or not part of the model at all.
We build advanced testing into our Functional package, because real lab data can show what’s actually driving your flares, whether that’s a gut imbalance, a nutrient gap, or a hidden infection. Not every program offers this level of testing, but testing isn’t the only path. Some people can’t afford it right away, and some just aren’t ready for it yet. Either way, we work from detailed symptom analysis instead, which can still be genuinely helpful for building your protocol. Testing is also available as an add-on on other tiers if you’d like it included.
Who builds your plan, and what are their credentials?
Ask who’s actually designing your protocol, and how often they work with eczema specifically. A specialist who sees eczema cases daily or weekly can spot patterns a generalist might miss, even a well-credentialed one who only handles a handful of cases a year. There’s a real difference between a rigid script applied the same way to everyone, and a framework that actually gets adapted to your history, labs, and case.
Our own team includes both naturopaths and health coaches with a naturopathic background. Naturopaths go through a four-year degree, with training in herbal medicine, clinical nutrition, vitamins and minerals, and functional lab interpretation. That’s the depth behind your plan. But our naturopaths aren’t just general naturopaths, they specialize in eczema and TSW, and work with it on a daily and weekly basis. Make sure whoever builds your plan is an eczema specialist who sees it regularly, not just any general naturopath. A general naturopath might recommend supplements too, often the same popular ones most people already try. But without deeper root-cause work, those can end up as band-aid support that doesn’t move the needle much. Many people come to us after trying that route already, which is part of why we tend to see more complex, longer-standing cases.
Ask: what training and experience they actually have, how much of their caseload is eczema and TSW specifically, and whether your plan is genuinely built around your case, or just a generic template with your name added to it.
How flexible is the timing of your sessions?
Some programs run on a fixed monthly session, no matter what. But supplements can take six to eight weeks to actually start working, so a monthly check-in doesn’t always give your body enough time to respond before you’re back in for the next one. That’s why we space our own sessions out further, to give your body real time to work with the protocol. We can also shorten or lengthen that spacing along the way, depending on how things are progressing for you. And when you’re flaring, that’s different. You may need to be seen sooner instead.
Ask: whether sessions can move up if you’re flaring, so your protocol can be adjusted sooner, or spread out further when your body needs more time to actually respond. A good program should be able to do both.
How much does the program adapt if something isn’t working?
Some programs, for example, run on one fixed session a month that isn’t flexible to move, following the same curriculum for everyone, start to finish. But eczema doesn’t heal in a straight line. What works in week two can stop working by week six.
We can personally adjust your protocol if you’re not responding as well as expected, or if you have a reaction to something. When that happens, we can move up your consultation, or use one of your included check-in sessions, to meet with you sooner and adjust your plan.
Ask: whether your plan gets adjusted based on how you respond, and how often that review happens.
What happens after the program ends?
Ask what happens once the program ends. If something comes up after you’ve completed it, is there a real way to get support?
Some programs make you pay for the whole program again just to rejoin. We don’t. Once you’ve finished, you can add on individual consultations at a discounted cost whenever you need them.
Is it promising more than it can deliver?
Be cautious with anyone promising a “cure,” or a guaranteed clearance. Be especially cautious of a 100% success rate. Here’s the thing: almost nobody can honestly deliver that. Not a program. Not a doctor. Not a practitioner. Not for every single person. Also watch for anyone who says eczema comes down to just one or two root causes, like “Candida” or “genetics.” That’s a red flag. Eczema is rarely that simple, and a program that isn’t looking at the bigger picture is going to miss things. A trustworthy program talks about finding your drivers and reducing flares. Not guarantees.
